Dr. Khalid Alef

About:

Dr. Khalid Alef is a lifelong learner with decades of experience in engineering consulting, community engagement, dawah (Islamic outreach), charity advisory, and philanthropic activities. He has studied in numerous fields, including but not limited to:

  • Bachelor of Sharia from the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia, a comprehensive study of Islamic jurisprudence, theology, Quranic sciences, Hadith, Arabic language, and judicial studies. Final year projects:

    • حكم المضمضة والاستنشاق في الوضوء (Grade: Excellent)
  • Foundational Islamic texts and received Ijazaat in such as Mutoon Taalib l-ilm, Bulugh al-Maram, Zad al-Mustaqni fi-Ikhtisar al-Muqni, al-Aqida al-Tahawiyya, and numerous others certified from the Prophet ﷺ’s Mosque in Madinah via:
    • Sh. Dr. Abdul-Muhsin al-Qasim - Imam & Khatib of al-Masjid al-Nabawi, Teacher at Islamic University of Madinah.
  • A Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Curtin University, Australia, authoring over 10 scientific publications in high-impact journals, and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) from the University of Western Australia.
  • Islamic Knowledge programs (dawraat) in Kuwait covering books in Aqeedah, Tafsir, Hadith and Usool al-Fiqh such as: Sharh Mukhtasar ar-Rawdah (al-Bulbul), directly under scholars such as:
    • Sh. Dr. Sulayman al-Ruhayli - Prof. at Islamic University of Madinah & Masjid Nabawi, Imam of Masjid Quba.
    • Sh. Dr. Saleh as-Suhaymi - Mufti of Madinah, Prof. at Islamic University of Madinah.
    • Sh. Dr. Khalid al-Matrafi - Professor of Tafsir at Al-Qassim University.

    • Sh. Dr. Mohammad Akram Nadwi - Scholar Nadwat al-‘Ulamā’, Research Fellow - Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies.
  • Tafsir Program of the Tafsir Academy of Tafsir Center For Qur'anic Studies, Riyadh, KSA. Ijaaza in Tajweed and Qur’anic recitation (Hafs 'an 'Asim) in Australia.
  • Arabic studies in 2010 covering al-Arabiya Baynah Yadayk books at Markez Fajr, Egypt, as well as Islamic studies with Sh. Ismaeel al-'Adaami, Islamic Scholar in Sharia Sciences, Arabic and Islamic Jurisprudence, Egypt.

Additionally, he has:

  • Supported numerous Islamic organizations since 2010, including serving as an Imam with the Australian National Imams Council (ANIC).
  • Received Ijazaat of riwaaya in major Hadith collections like Sahih Muslim and Riyad as-Salihin.
  • Delivered guest lectures at several universities, including Curtin University for the unit "Islam in Contemporary Asia".
