1. Missed & 6 Fasts of Shawwal
After Ramadan, it’s essential to make up any missed fasts. Additionally, consider fasting six days from Shawwal—doing so grants the reward of fasting for the entire year.
To build consistency, try fasting regularly on Mondays and Thursdays, and on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of each lunar month.
2. Qur’an & Dhikr
Continue your relationship with the Qur’an by dedicating part of your day to reading, listening, and reflecting on its meanings.
Regular adhkar (remembrances), including morning and evening supplications, help you stay connected to Allah. Always seek forgiveness and repent for your shortcomings.
3. Sadaqah & Help the Poor
Charity should not be limited to Ramadan. Make it a habit to donate—even as little as $1 daily.
Support orphans, widows, and those in need, and strive to be a beneficial member of the ummah through consistent acts of kindness.
4. Daily Prayers & Night Prayer
Salah (daily prayer) is the foundation of your faith. Perform each prayer on time, with presence and humility, preferably in congregation.
Preserve the habit of praying at night, even if it’s just two units and Witr. The night prayer keeps the spirit of Ramadan alive in your routine.
5. Good Deeds & Good Friends
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even if it were little.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
Remain consistent with good deeds, no matter how small. Surround yourself with righteous companions who remind you of Allah and motivate you to aim for the Hereafter.
Maintaining a strong spiritual connection after Ramadan is key to continued personal development. With consistent effort and the right environment, you can keep the blessings of Ramadan alive all year long.
